A Spotsylvania Bathroom Transformation
From Leaky Mess to Spa-Like Sanctuary:
Hey Spotsylvania friends! Mike Sherman here from Optimize Design Build. We just wrapped up a fantastic full bathroom remodel, and I’m excited to share the transformation with you. This project was a true testament to our team’s dedication to quality and turning homeowner visions into reality.
Our clients came to us with a bathroom that, frankly, wasn’t serving them well. They had a large, rarely-used jacuzzi tub taking up valuable space, a small, leaky shower that was unusable, and, to top it all off, holes in the floor from years of water damage. It was clear that a complete overhaul was needed.
Demolition and Discovery:
We started by taking the bathroom down to the studs and subfloor. As expected, we uncovered significant water damage. We replaced rotten wood and meticulously patched the holes, ensuring a solid foundation for the new bathroom. One of the biggest issues we found was drywall behind the shower walls – a recipe for disaster in a wet environment.
Building a Waterproof Dream:
We replaced the inadequate drywall with a proper waterproof wall system behind the new, generously sized shower. This is crucial for preventing future leaks and ensuring the longevity of the remodel. We also replaced the old copper water lines with durable and reliable PEX water lines, eliminating the risk of corrosion and leaks.
The Finishing Touches:
With the structural work complete, we moved on to the aesthetic upgrades. We installed beautiful, durable porcelain tile flooring that’s both stylish and practical. A new, modern toilet, vanity, mirror, light fixtures, and towel racks were added, bringing a fresh, contemporary feel to the space.
The centerpiece of the remodel was a stunning 42″ neo-angle corner shower with frosted glass and sleek matte black fixtures. This shower not only maximizes space but also adds a touch of elegance and privacy. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing escape after a long day.
Two Weeks to Transformation:
This entire project was completed in just two weeks, a testament to the efficiency and expertise of our team. We understand that being without a bathroom is disruptive, so we strive to complete our projects quickly without sacrificing quality.
